30th Anniversary Celebration: dates, products, and how to buy the Pokémon TCG 30th Anniversary set

2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the launch of Pokémon Red and Green in Japan (1996), and The Pokémon Company is celebrating in style: the Pokémon 30th Anniversary arrives in the TCG with 30th Anniversary Celebration, a commemorative expansion that already has a date, a full lineup, and a list of must-haves that will put any collector's wallet to the test. We’ll tell you everything that’s been confirmed and how to prepare so you don’t miss out.

What is 30th Anniversary Celebration?

It is the special set for the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon TCG, with a worldwide release on September 16, 2026, which has also been officially announced for Spain. It follows the formula of the legendary 25th-anniversary Celebrations, but with greater ambition:

• All cards in the set are holographic.
• It includes 30 unique Pikachu illustrations, and every pack guarantees one.
• Each pack contains 5 holographic cards, one holographic Basic Energy, and a code card for TCG Live.
• And the crown jewel: the Classic Collection, featuring reissues of cards from the past (keep reading).

This is what the set's packs look like: 5 holographic cards guaranteed in each one.

The most important detail for planning your purchases: packs are not sold individually. They are only available within the lineup's products, just like with Celebrations in 2021.

Release dates and products

These are the waves for the worldwide release. Note: this is not the Collectowny schedule, which is below — the product arrives in Spain later and we are distributing it in four waves.

First wave: September 16

• Elite Trainer Box: 9 packs, Illustration Rare-style Nidorina promo, 16 holographic energies, and accessories.
• Pokémon Center ETB (edition with an extra sealed promo).
• Poster Collection: 3 packs, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres promos, and a double-sided poster.
• Tech Sticker Collection: 3 packs and an Alolan Exeggutor or Lucario promo with stickers.
• Pokémon ex Box: 4 packs and a Sylveon ex or Greninja ex promo with its oversize card.
• Knock Out Collection and 2-Pack Blister: the affordable entry point, with an Eevee promo and a commemorative coin.

Second wave: October 2

• Day and Night Mini Tins: 10 tins whose Unown spell out “ANNIVERSARY” when put together. Highly collectible.
• Binder Collection: 9-pocket portfolio with 5 packs. Update: the manufacturer has delayed this worldwide, so it has been moved to December 4.
• Booster Bundle: 6 packs, the most direct way to open product.

Day (Pikachu) and Night (Umbreon) Mini Tins: 2 packs per tin, and the Unown from all 10 tins spell out ANNIVERSARY.

Binder Collection: 9-pocket binder and 5 packs to get you started.

Booster Bundle: 6 set packs, no extras. For those who just want to open cards.

Third wave: October 30

• Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks: 60-card decks that are all holographic with a Victini or Zeraora Illustration Rare-style promo.
• Ditto Premium Collection: acrylic display, Ditto promo, and 8 packs.

Fourth wave: November 6

• Mewtwo and Mew Figure Collections: sculpted figure, oversize card, holographic promo, and 5 packs.

Fifth wave: December 4

• Binder Collection: officially delayed by the manufacturer worldwide, it now closes the schedule.
• Sylveon ex and Greninja ex ex Tins: 4 packs, holographic promo, and a metal tin. This is the one we are bringing in Wave 4.

What we are bringing to Collectowny and when

The product arrives from the distributor in four shipments. These are the release dates we have been given; we do not yet know the quantities:

Update from September 15: the distributor is providing Wave 1 with delays to stores in Spain, so we won't have it on the 16th. As soon as it arrives, we will notify you by email with the day and time. The other three waves, for now, remain on track.

• Wave 1 — September 16 · delayed: Elite Trainer Box and the 2-pack blister.
• Wave 2 — October 2: Booster Bundle and Mini Tins.
• Wave 3 — November 6: Day and Night Ultra-Premium Collection and the Mew and Mewtwo Figure Collections.
• Wave 4 — December 4th: the Sylveon ex and Greninja ex Tins, which the distributor will provide to us in December.

There are eight products in the lineup that we will not be carrying: the Knock Out Collection, the Ditto Premium Collection, the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks, the Pokémon Center ETB, the ex Box, the Poster Collection, the Tech Sticker Collection, and the Binder Collection. We are leaving them listed above because they exist and many people are looking for them, but they will not be available in our shop.

There are no pre-orders or deposits. Each product goes on sale when it arrives at our warehouse and must be paid for in full, just like any other item. We send an email notification with the exact day and time, and subscribers can purchase up to 15 minutes early. The jewel of the anniversary: the Classic Collection

The most sought-after cards of the 30th Anniversary are those in the Classic Collection: reissues of classic cards from Pokémon history, led by the Base Set Charizard. In the West, for now, they are only guaranteed through the special 3-card pack included in the November Ultra-Premium Collections. If you are one of those who have been dreaming of that Charizard for years, you know which product to look at first.

Anniversary sets are the kind that disappear from stores in days. Anyone who experienced the madness of Celebrations 2021 knows what we are talking about, and this one brings even more reasons for hype (all holo, 30 Pikachus, Classic Collection). Our recommendation based on your profile:

• Serious collector: Ultra-Premium Collection, without a doubt. It is the only guaranteed way to get the Classic Collection and it includes 29 booster packs.
• Average budget: the Elite Trainer Box is the best balance between price, booster packs, and exclusive promo.
• For gifts or beginners: the Mini Tins and the 2-Pack Blister are perfect and affordable.

A tip from the shop: don't wait for the release date. With special sets, being on the list and logging in at your scheduled time on launch day is the difference between getting the product at the regular price or paying an inflated price on the secondary market three months later.

Is any 30th Anniversary content already available?

Yes: the celebration began with the Pokémon Day 2026 Special Collection, the commemorative box from January. The first release of the anniversary is Wave 1, which has been delayed by the distributor: you can see all of it on the 30th Anniversary page. When is the Pokémon 30th Anniversary set released?

The 30th Anniversary Celebration launches worldwide on September 16, 2026, with products distributed in waves through December 4th. At Collectowny, we are bringing them in four waves, from September to December; the first is delayed by the distributor and we will notify you by email as soon as we have it.

Is there a pre-order or deposit required?

No. Each product goes on sale when it is in our warehouse and must be paid for in full. We provide notification by email with the day and time, and subscribers get early access: 15 minutes early for those who have purchased from us before, 5 minutes early for other subscribers, and at the exact time for everyone else.

Will individual booster packs be available for purchase?

No. As with Celebrations (2021), booster packs only come inside other products: ETBs, collections, bundles, and decks.

What is the Classic Collection?

A subset of reissues of classic cards (including the Base Set Charizard). In the West, it is guaranteed only in the Ultra-Premium Collections.

Will it be available in Spanish?

Yes. The Pokémon Company has officially announced the expansion in Spanish as Celebración 30.º Aniversario, and all promotional cards have already been shown in Spanish, with the same worldwide release date of September 16, 2026.
