If you were waiting for the new OP-17 cards, the wait ended on August 2. Bandai aired a special program on their official YouTube channel, the Wanpi Card Joho Kyoku, and unveiled all the parallel cards from the fourth-anniversary set in one go. And what a statement: the missing sixth leader is Rocks D. Xebec, who finally makes his debut in the game. Here is what was revealed, with an important difference from what we reported in July: these are no longer leaks, this is official material.

Rocks D. Xebec is the sixth OP-17 leader
The blue slot that had been up in the air for weeks now has an owner. Rocks D. Xebec (OP17-039) is a blue leader with 5 life and 5000 power, Slash attribute, and the Rocks Pirates trait. His effect is a pure resource engine: when attacking, you can discard 1 card from your hand to reveal the top card of your deck and, if it has the Rocks Pirates trait, draw 2 cards.

The blue color in OP-17 is the entire Rocks crew
Here is the big surprise: the entire blue color of the set is the Rocks crew, featuring younger versions of legends we already know in other colors.
- Edward Newgate (OP17-040), cost 6 and 8000 power, this time as a member of the Rocks Pirates.
- Kaido (OP17-042), cost 4 and 6000 power with Blocker, during his time under Rocks.
- Charlotte Linlin (OP17-049), cost 5 and 7000 power, the young Big Mom.
- Shiki (OP17-048), cost 7 and 9000 power with Rush.
- Gloriosa (OP17-046), Miss Buckingham Stussy (OP17-054), Wang Zhi, Captain John, and the Hachinosu (OP17-057) stage.
And to top it all off, the set's second secret: Rocks D. Xebec (OP17-118), cost 10 and 12000 power. Upon entry, draw 1 card and play up to 2 different cards with the Rocks Pirates trait from your hand, provided their combined costs are 9 or less. A game-ending card in one go.

The creator of Baki illustrates Kaido
The most discussed collaboration of the anniversary is not gameplay-related, but artistic. Keisuke Itagaki, the author of Baki, has signed an exclusive illustration of Kaido (OP17-062) for this set. It makes perfect sense: Itagaki has been drawing the strongest creature on Earth for decades, and Kaido is literally the strongest living being in the world of One Piece. The result is unmistakable, with that musculature and line work only seen in Baki.

Crew Super Parallel: the new rarity of the fourth anniversary
OP-17 introduces a rarity above anything seen so far: the Crew Super Parallel (Kaizokudan Super Parallel in Japanese). There are only two cards with this finish and both are captains: Rocks D. Xebec (OP17-118) and Monkey D. Luffy (EB04-061), the latter a reprint of the Egghead card with new art. Both share the same visual language: the full-color character cut out against a collage of black-and-white manga panels with their crew in the background.

Below these are the Super Leader Parallel for the Luffy leader (OP17-079), which we already showed you in our revealed cards article, and the Super Parallel of the former Four Emperors: Newgate (OP17-005), Shanks (OP17-022), Kaido (OP17-062), and Big Mom (OP17-112).
Four DON!! cards and an unexpected Treasure Rare
OP-17 brings four distinct DON!! cards, all with the classic "+1000 during your turn" but with commemorative illustrations: one in manga style with Luffy declaring he intends to take down the four Emperors, another with Luffy and Kaido, another with the current four Emperors, and a fourth with Rocks D. Xebec. These are the four extra cards that explain the official set count: 131 types plus 4.

And the surprise no one predicted: the Treasure Rare, the rarity placed above the SEC, did not go to Luffy, Shanks, or Kaido as speculated. It goes to Lucky Roux (OP17-033), from the Red-Haired Pirates, a 4-cost, 5000-power card. A lovely nod to long-time readers.

Our take at Collectowny
This reveal changes the interpretation of the set. Before August 2, OP-17 was "the Elbaf set with Loki as a secret." Now it is the set that adds the entire Rocks Pirates as a playable archetype, with its own leader and a secret that deploys two bodies at once. As a collection piece, the Crew Super Parallel is exactly the type of rarity that skyrockets: only two cards, a new finish, and the two most iconic captains in the manga. Our specific recommendation: if you open packs, this is a set worth a full display, because the distribution of high rarities is among the most generous we've seen; if you are chasing single cards, keep an eye on Rocks OP17-118 in any of its versions and Itagaki's Kaido, which, besides being a card, is a collector's item due to the signature.
